My
mom came and got me when I was just a kitten living in a house
full of dogs, puppies and lots of adult cats. I'd only ever had
mother's milk, so when my mom brought me home and put a dish in
front of me that was all to myself - I was in kitten heaven! I
ate and ate until my tummy got big. But then I was really
thirsty, and I couldn't find my cat mother anywhere to have a
drink. I told my new mom my problem, and she gave me some water
from an eye dropper. It was great! Then she put me down in front
of another big dish that had some funny clear stuff in it - I'd
passed it by a few times before and had sniffed it, but my nose
got all wet and it was unpleasant! Mom put the eye-dropper in the
wet stuff, and gave me the eye-dropper to drink from. I suddenly
realized that the good stuff I was drinking was what was in the
dish! I sat down, got comfortable, and wrapped my little tail
around myself and dunked my nose in several times until I finally
figured out to stick my tongue out first. Then I was happy! Mom
called me "Jacques-Cousteau", because I love water so much, but
we like "JC" for short. I still ask my mom for fresh water every
day.
