This
is our cat Rusty. Now, for his unique characteristics. First, his
favorite snack is a plastic bag or cellophane; he can't understand why
we always try to frustrate his desires in this regard. Second, he is
obsessed with bugs. He will wait by the back door in Summer in hopes of
catching an intruding moth. Once, when I was doing some remodeling, I
couldn't understand why he was so upset at about 2 or 3 O'clock in the
morning. I finally figured it out. I had put some sheetrock up on the
ceiling and he apparently thought the ceiling was covered with bugs. It
was really just the recessed black screw heads!
Third, he is obsessed with plants and flowers. He can be two rooms away
and smell a plant the minute it is brought into the house! Did I
mention that his two favorite snacks (besides cellophane) are cereal and
bagels?
Rusty is the most social cat we have ever had live with our family. When
we first brought him into our home one of our other cats had to spend a
few days at the vet. When he came home I spotted Rusty on the floor with
him with his paw around his shoulders. He is extremely social with his
sisters and brothers and as he has aged he has grown more affectionate
with my wife and me. His brother and litter mate Sunny, a gentle giant,
and he seem to be on the same wave length; engaging in mutual licking
fests!
