This
is our sweetie Crystal, whom we rescued from the dumpsters along
with her sister. Crystal is my special friend, she follows me anywhere
and everywhere in the house. As I do housework and go upstairs then
down, to one room then another - she arrives in that room just ahead
of me and looks at me as if to say "what are we going to do here?" I
tend to forget things and go upstairs then down way too often!... that
is why she stays so slim... she is five pounds while her sister tips
the scales at ten pounds.
She watches over our children and the other animals, if one of our
boys stays overnight at a friends, she is visibly uneasy that we are
not all together at home. Interestingly, Crystal obviously loves her
family - but acts very scared if we reach to pet her - she runs away
and she almost acts like it is torture to be caught and petted. She
will come on her own and ask to be petted, for only a short time. This
picture is her waiting for me while I am on the computer, and should
anyone come into the office, she will not give up the chair - unless
of course you try to pet her for a prolonged period of time.
She loves to lay in the upstairs window and watch the birds in the
trees... I guess she figures that she is right in the trees with
them. During the summer when the air conditioning is on, we keep the
window shut and the shade down. At the break of dawn, she stands on
the bed looking at the window and meowing in my husband's ear until he
gets up and opens the window. She just pushes us around.
Both cats eat only one kind of dry food, when I get a new bag
and set it on the floor, she will go over and open tear at the bag
until she opens it. It makes no difference that their bowl is quite
full. If I ever dreamed of the most beautiful cat in my
opinion, she is the closest I have ever come in my whole life. She
has blue eyes that often cross like a Siamese.
