I
got Isabel as a birthday present for my daughter Hannah's birthday.
Little did I imagine how special Isabel would become to both of us. I
wanted to make Hannah's fifth birthday special. Hannah has always
loved animals and I knew a kitten would thrill her and I think pets in
general are excellent for people's emotional well-being as long as
they are wanted and cared for. When Hannah saw the tiny 8-wk-old
american short hair calico kitten she flipped; and she still dotes on
Isabel, two years later. But the bigger surprise was how much I loved
Isabel almost immediately. I grew up in a family that didn't like cats
so I never had one as a pet. I am continually amazed and delighted at
Isabel's sweet affectionate disposition. And she is so beautiful it
makes me happy just to look at her. She is a joy.
