Her
name is Tiger Lily, but she is anything but ferocious! We adopted
her at an adoption day at the zoo through the Michigan Humane Society.
It was love at first sight. She was so special she got to be part of a
group of animals that went on the news to advertise this event.
Although the ride home was a little scary for her, she quickly adapted
to our home and hasn't left our side since. While other cats hide and
run away from people, Lily hates being alone. Even if she doesn't know
you, she will come right up to you and say hi. She is so flexible, the
vet calls her the "yoga kitty!"
Lily thinks she is the princess of our house and actually, she is. One
of her favorite places to curl up is on top of a U-M pillow on the
couch. I guess Lily is a Michigan fan too. Her favorite time to cuddle
is of course, 6 o-clock in the morning, when she runs onto my bed, jumps
on my head and starts purring like crazy.
Lily is great with kids, she doesn't get annoyed even when my cousins
are over and she has six little hands trying to pet her all at once.
It's not surprising she doesn't know her own name yet, since we call her
something different every day. From Shmootzick to Princess, from Munchki
Banana to Lily Girl, she's heard it all. When we leave, she sits by the
back door, and though it seems impossible, her ear moves back and forth
like she is waving goodbye to us, and as soon as she hears the garage
opens, she comes and greets us by the same door.
Lily is very special to our family, and we are very happy we found her.
