Her
name is Luna. We chose that name because her coat is almost like
moonlight. She is a Blue Point Himalayan, and Luna, to us, is the most
wonderful, perfect, adorable Himalayan kitten there is. She was a
Christmas gift and I feel very fortunate to have her. Her health
condition is just fine, and she has a rare, really sweet nature. She
is a people-cat, and comes running to greet us, meowing, when we come
home. Her eyes, instead of plain out blue that Himalayans have, are
more of a green/blue mix, and are really pretty. She purrs every time
she is held, and she loves to be cuddled. To people she's just met she
acts like she's always known them, and everyone loves her. People who
say they don't like cats always end up saying how cute Luna is.
Sometimes it can be quite difficult not to trip over her, for she
loves to prance about our feet, or sleeping right in the middle of the
floor or hallway. Everything seems to fascinate her, seeing how she is
constantly playing with things like strings, shoe laces, round
objects, leaves, twigs, pencils, you name it. She absolutely loves to
eat, and almost every time she does she manages to get food all over
her face. She also eats basically anything. We can't leave our food
sitting unattended, otherwise she'll be at it within seconds. If we
have anything she thinks might be food in our hands, she follows you
around, paws at your knees, or hops onto the chair or table with you.
She likes to play with the older cats we have, not really
understanding how much it annoys them. She's managed to make one of
the older cats really jealous of the attention she receives, so now
Luna's learned it isn't very wise to try playing with that one.
Another thing she enjoys doing is to follow us outside when we feed
the dogs. She sits in a place behind us where the dogs can clearly see
she's there but she's perfectly safe from them, because she knows we
won't let the dogs at her. She just loves seeing them staring at her
with those, "I want to eat her, I really do, but I can't!" looks.
Everything she does looks cute, whether it's sleeping, playing,
eating, cuddling, or meowing, and she won us over the day we got her.
