This
is a picture of "Red Storm Rising" a red Burmese, who at the time
of this picture was six years old. He is now ten years old and enjoying
life to the fullest. Stormy is his nickname, and he knows it well.
Stormy was born in Saskatchewan, Canada during the Gulf War and he was
named for that, and also the book of the same name. At the time red
Burmese were not an accepted color in the breed shows of Canada, so
there were only six known red Burmese in the country then. Since then red
has become an accepted color and people now breed for this specific
color.
Burmese cats are very active and always want to be with their humans. No
matter what I'm doing, Stormy is trying to make a game of it. Sometimes
that works, sometimes it doesn't. When closing doors on closets or
cupboards, I have become accustomed to checking to see if there is a cat
that has squeezed into an empty space, as this happens often. Always
ready for action, play or just a cuddle or two, these are very
affectionate little animals.
