Goldie
is the bright light in my every day. When I first met her she was
nothing more than a bedraggled little stray hanging around outside the
building where I lived. I'm allergic to cats. I've never liked cats
and I've been a dog person all of my life, but Goldie converted me with
her unfailing devotion and simple cat-love. Bright and independent,
Goldie won my heart with her bravery while she was living on the
streets.
She is no longer allowed outdoor privileges and instead
spends her days sleeping way up high on a stack of pillows on my bed.
She also continues her interest in bird-watching from the front window.
Very playful, she loves to bat golf balls around the living room. Her
favorite food, bacon, is an occasional supplement to her diet cat
chow. Twice a year, she gets into her cat carrier and flies to her
grandmother's house in Michigan. (She flies under the seat in coach
without drugs and she doesn't make a peep - except when it's really
turbulent.) At her vacation home, she delights all of her extended
family with her beautiful face and gregarious personality. I am daily
blessed by my life with my cat, Goldie.
