This
is our little house terrorist, Bubby. She is twenty months old and was
a wilderness rescue from a deserted hill overlooking the Illinois River
in eastern Oklahoma, miles from the nearest residence. She was roughly
four-five weeks old at the time, and was "squeaking" repeatedly for help as I
got out of the car at our remote lot. When we finally found her, we
could not believe it was a kitten way out there, but started seeing that
she was no normal kitten. She was very aggressive when we picked her up
and didn't like to be held. She showed no signs of matted fur on her
neck from being carried by the mother, and I still don't know how she
got there, but she found a home in our hearts. She is completely
spotted in reddish-brown, gray and white, and has a full tail, a small
goat-tee, five rows of whiskers and the eyes and demeanor of an exotic.
Although we have no proof, we believe she is the doubted "legend cat" or
natural bobcat/feral tabby cross. She acts unlike any adult cat we have
ever seen, and, excepting the full tail, is a carbon copy of photos
we've seen of "pixie-bobs". She isn't a "bob" and she isn't a tabby, so
became a "bubby", since we had not researched her doubtful existence at
the time. Her predatory instincts and leaping capability are amazing.
