Ally
is a Dilmun (these are feral cats found on the Middle-East island
of Bahrain). Ally adopted us when she was around four weeks old. She was
crying in the corner of the garden, and there was no sign of her mum or
the rest of the litter, so we took her inside. It soon became clear
that she was going to be a permanent addition to the family, and she
wasted no time at all in taking over the house and making herself at
home. She loves lying on the PC monitor in winter, and always manages to
put a paw or her tail over the exact spot I am trying to read. She
waits by the window for me to come home from work, then whilst I am
cooking supper, she jumps up into the kitchen cupboards and tries to
land her toys into the food, or onto my head!
Dilmun cats are very slim and sleek, with narrow faces and
beautifully expressive yellow or green eyes. Ally is an indoor cat,
and she loves sleeping in a patch of sun on the bed whilst we are at
work. She loves playing with fluffy balls, which she "hunts" around
the house until she has "killed" them, and then proudly presents
them to me! She loves to snuggle up with her family to watch TV, and
has been knows to "kill" the mouse pointer on the computer screen,
or walk across the keyboard if she feels she is not getting enough
attention. If you tell Ally she is "Naughty" she will answer back by
opening her mouth and making a funny squeaky noise! Ally thinks she
is a very lucky cat, to have been rescued from outside, and we think
we are a very lucky family, because Ally landed in our garden!
