I
adopted Teo from the SPCA the weekend of Mother's Day 2000, I was so
excited, I always wanted a cat so I figured it was time. I officially
became a mother that weekend. I had Teo for about two weeks when he
started to get sick, and was at the vet three times within a week with him.
Teo was on medication, but he stopped eating and he was always cuddling up on
me. He was so sick it was sad, the vet told me she could put him in the
hospital but what he really needed most right now was lots of love and
attention, so if I could learn to feed him and give him water he would
be best at home where he was loved and would get my full attention.
It was hard to do it alone so my sister, her friend and daughter moved in
for a week to help me save him. The vet showed us how to feed Teo, so
my sister and I did it. One would hold him, and the other would put can food
on her finger and feed him. As for the water, we took a cotton ball and
wet it with cold water to make him drink. It was the only way to make
sure he would drink and not choke on the water. He was cuddled up to us
all the time, and we did it we saved him and for that I am so grateful.
Teo has brought me joy happiness and help me through a lot in the past
years and he is helping me right now with the death of my mother. I tell
you Teo has been a Godsend to me, when I cry he walks over and brushes
his body against my face to wipe my tears. He cuddles up to me
constantly, my friends cannot believe the friendship and understanding
me and Teo have and share. He is always there for me and I am always
there for him. I give a special thanks to my friend Lynn for forcing me
to go to the SPCA that day I will always be grateful to her for that.
