My
name is Matisse, and I'm a six-month-old baby boy. Or so mommy calls
me all the time. I'm not a baby! I'm a big fluffy cat! Ok, I'm just
fluffy. That picture of me is so lame, I look like I'm such a nice
quiet placid cat. Well, I do like sitting down on the bathtub's edge
and dipping my tail into the water. But! No! I am the Great Headless
Cat! Doesn't every cat sleep sitting up with their head tucked into
their tummy? I am the Cat That Goes Boing! I don't jump onto anything,
not yet, but when mommy has a pile of boxes, I jump boing! over them!
Walking around things is too easy. Boing! Boing! Boing! That's not
all!
I am also the Cat Who Goes Flip! When mommy tries to push me out of the
way when I am busy investigating the pantry and when I am supervising
her taking out food from the refrigerator, I don't just move away! No
sir! I must do a back flip. Every time! Maybe Mommy will learn not to
push me out of the way... Last night mommy was in bed and laughing
really loud at me. I don't know what was so funny, all I was doing was
chasing and subduing the water bottle cap, trying to make sure it stayed
dead... of course I had to put my head down on the floor and do a
somersault so I could squish the cap!
So I'm Matisse. I help Mommy type her term papers sometimes. I do a
good job of making sure her art pottery doesn't fly away by taking naps
in them. And of course I must always be there for her when she's in the
bathroom, by lying in the doorway. I don't know why she keeps tripping
over me though. Best of all, I love to sit on mommy's lap and purr
really loud and gaze at her adoringly.
