My
boyfriend and I found Murphy through the adoption center at Petsmart
in the fall of 1999. We fell in love with her immediately! (When she
wrapped her multi-colored little self around his neck and purred into
his ear, he was a goner.) We couldn't name her anything too "girlie,"
so we settled on a family name - Murphy. Murphy is amazingly playful
and energetic! She has a million little stuffed mice that she hides and
chases. Every now and again the mice show up as "presents" inside our
shoes or on our pillows. Murphy is also known as the "Toilet Paper
Bandit" or "Bathroom Vandal." If we leave the toilet paper roll
anywhere within her reach, our bathroom ends up strewn with pretty white
streamers! Murphy's favorite spot to relax is her "Kitty Condo," a
multilevel carpeted palace where she can perch and see the action in
several rooms at once. Of course, the bay windows are also a perfect
napping place when the sun is shining. At holiday time, however, she
becomes a constant fixture under the Christmas tree. Murphy is our
favorite present to ourselves all year round!
