Meet
Cally, a pretty little calico who was brought to us by a feral,
Frankie, that lived in our back yard. Frankie, whom we took care of and
is now finally part of our indoor family, showed little Cally how to get
in our fenced-in yard and had her pose in the flower bed. At the
appropriate moment, he made sure she meowed so I would not miss her in
the dark. I am sure he knew we would take her in, even though he was not
ready at the time to join us. We have strong suspicions that she is his
daughter.
Cally is such a silly thing. She purrs like a Mac truck, careens off the
walls, and chases her ping-pong ball in the bathtub, banging from one
end to the other. She races from window to window chittering and
squeaking at the squirrels and birds outside. Without a doubt, she is
the live-wire of our kitty bunch. Since she spent two days in the
bathroom before I let her meet the other kitties, she considers the
bathroom her very own. She sleeps in there often and always demands to
be let in whenever someone shuts her out. She is also a wonderful
companion to Frankie. When Frankie finally decided he wanted to be a
pampered kitty and join our family, she patiently showed him the ropes,
encouraged him to play, and took him on tours of the house. Cally
definitely helped him feel comfortable and made his transition easier.
She's sweeter and prettier than any flower that ever grew in that
garden.
