On
a cold winter day in December of 2000, I decided to leave the wild
life on the streets of Danbury and find a new home. Luck was with me
that day as I found the most wonderful place. My new mama quickly made
me feel at home with three very soft beds, a trunkful of toys and, most
importantly, an outpouring of love and affection. I'm the luckiest
feline in the world! I have a wonderful Nana and Papa who always come
and bring great presents. I also have six cousins: Pearlie, Sandee,
Miranda, Darla, Penny and Grace. In my smaller photograph, one will see
that I am reading my very special book about me, Otto the Cat. My Uncle
Dave gave me this book since he thinks I'm awfully special as well.
Besides reading, I enjoy high jumping, playing fetch, snuggling, and
napping. Many people tell me (especially my mama) that I'm very handsome
with my bright blue eyes, slim body, and dramatic markings. Besides
being told I'm handsome, many people also talk about my great
intelligence since supposedly I am one of the few felines in the world
who knows how to read. I find that quite amazing and hope other felines
will also discover the joys of the literary world.
When we were first brought together, Otto was very frightened and spent
many months living under the couch only coming out for food and to use
the potty. One day he decided to leave his safe haven and jumped right
into my lap. Since that day forward, we have been great pals. He loves
to play fetch and hide and seek, high jump for mice, and snuggle up
to his favorite people. He is my pride and joy.
