Miss
Kitty is a very refined kitty who seems to have read, or perhaps
even written, extensively on kitty etiquette. If her siblings or humans
fall short of her standards she has her own strange conversational style
in which to express her dissatisfaction. I have never before heard this
kind of continuous vocalization from a cat, which is neither a meow or a
chatter. More like an on-going whiny grumble with a facial expression
to match.
I'm Miss Kitty's fourth (and last) owner. I acquired her
from a tenant who was not treating her properly and voluntarily gave her
up to a happy cat-loving home. She joined my other cat Peke about four
years ago and hating each other is their major preoccupation. Since I
recently adopted a kitten, Miss Kitty's and Peke's relationship has
escalated to a state of total loathing and disgust. But the kitten
seems to be oblivious to the tension and loves everybody. Miss Kitty
believes that I am her long lost kitten and all other occupants of the
household are interlopers. She will insistently grab my hand with both
paws and pull hit towards her for a thorough cleaning. Then she will
lick my entire arm, if allowed. Ouch. She's a sweet, soft curmudgeon
who always smells wonderful.
