This
is our youngest cat, Antigone (an-TIG-ah-nee). We adopted Annie
from a shelter when she was about three months old. She had been found
at a truck stop, starving and sick, and brought to a veterinarian who
worked with the shelter. I walked in and fell in love with her
immediately. She has blossomed into a gorgeous cat, and is a real
"mommie's girl." She is crazy about our big cat, Caesar. Caesar and
Annie are both Maine Coon mixes. Caesar weighs eighteen pounds, and Annie
weighs twelve. They're both big babies!
Antigone is not normally a "cuddly" girl - she loves to be nearby, and
will sleep on my feet, but usually doesn't climb up to sit on anyone's
lap... unless I whistle "Let it Snow!" For some reason, she really likes
it when I whistle that song, and will jump up in my lap and pat my cheek
with her paw... and purr! She also "swims" across the carpet, to
intimidate the dogs. She will lie on her side and pull herself along
with her front paws, until she's right up near the dogs... then reach
out and grab their tails. Of course, they will relinquish their spot,
and she will stretch out where they were lying. The other odd thing she
does is lick blue walmart bags. I don't know what it is about them, but
she will lick and lick them, until she falls asleep... so when I shop
at Walmart, I have to hide the bags, or she'll find them (usually at 2
am) and lick away.
