Here
is my little girl, Norma Jean. My friends at work gave her to me
when my beloved ten-year-old cat, Norman, died suddenly last year. They
had a "kitty shower" for me, as a surprise, and presented her to me. She
is funny, silly, sweet and the love of my life. She's a domestic
shorthair with big green eyes. She is very special because I got her two
weeks after my ten year old cat died - and the profound sadness left
immediately when she came into my life! She is sweet, lovable,
flirtatious, and full of the dickens! Her favorite toy is a grey furry
mouse that she brings to me to throw so that she can retrieve it. She
also has a multi-colored, lambs wool-lined tunnel that she darts in and
out of to both of our delight - a gift for her 1st birthday from her
Granddad.
She has a Boogie Mat from Fat Cat that she loves, too - she dives under
it and tumbles all over it. She loves other people, but acts shy at
first, then plops right in the middle of the conversation as if to
listen to everything we are saying. She is always with me and rarely
off by herself - unless it's to crawl deep into my closet for an
afternoon rest. My favorite time is when she curls up in my arms for a
good 60-90 minutes while I watch TV - I stroke her face and she sleeps
peacefully. The pillow next to her, by the way, says "9 lives and an
attitude" which I think she exemplifies well! She's my girl and I love
her!
She loves to play hide and seek. I will get down on the floor and go behind
the couch while she stalks me around the front of the couch. Eventually we
meet up at a corner, then I squeal in mock surprise, and she jumps straight
up in the air and runs! Sometimes she's just smart enough to jump up on the
back of the couch and watch me crawling around looking for her!
While she has grown up on dry kitten food for her first year, she recently
has a fondness for carrot & turkey baby food! Also recently, at exactly
4:00am every morning, she wakes me up to play. I can usually get her to
calm down and go back to sleep, but if I can't and I don't want to get up, I
will put her in the bathroom with her toys and she plays there until I let
her out a few hours later.
She is sweet and playful and always fun to be around. I love her!
