I
adopted Sadie from the local animal shelter last September. She was
just six weeks old and underweight for her age. It didn't take her long
to bulk up, though, as she seems to eat constantly. She loves to get
into trouble and play with my Betta fish, Spike. Each morning, she
comes into my room and purrs in my ear, telling me that it's time to get
up. It is at this moment that I forgive her for all the mayhem that she
has caused.
Sadie bounces between being affectionate and independent. There are
times when sits next to me and purrs. This time is usually in the
middle of the night and it doesn't last long. Other times, she is very
independent. She loves to be outside and has not yet realized she has a
curfew. I find I cannot go to bed until she is safe inside. She is
like my kid. Sadie loves to spend her time "playing" with our other
cat, Angel. Unfortunately, Angel does not like to "play," and things
quickly turn to a cloud of flying fur and hissing. However, Angel also
seems restless at night, if Sadie has not come inside. She paces the
floor until her "sister" comes home.
Because Sadie is like a child, she loves to test limits. She jumps on
the kitchen counters and often steals cough drops from the counter top.
She can also be found batting around other items that came from places
she should not have been. I am very glad that Sadie is in my life,
though she sometimes appears to be nothing but trouble. She has
provided me with hours of entertainment, not to mention plenty of
companionship and love.
