Meet
Benton O'Malley! This pretty, green-eyed kitty sure is a sweetie!
He's one of the most peaceful and content cats I've ever known. He loves
to be petted, and he's very persistent. If you pet him once, he'll
follow you all around the house and almost trip your feet until you pet
him again... and again... and again! He doesn't have much fur, but he
can sure shed like the dickens! I love it when he sleeps with me on my
bed because he's so warm.
We first fell in love with Benton in the fall of 2000. While she was
painting the garage, my mom heard a baby kitten meowing from the barn.
She found the tiny, bright-eyed, gray kitten (as cute as he could be)
all alone, hungry, and abandoned by the momma cat in our barn. We took
him in and gave him so much love. My mom was so patient. She fed him
from a doll-sized baby bottle and would actually rock him in the rocker
and burp him. He had a routine, just like a baby, and when he'd be ready
to go to bed, we'd wrap him up in a blanket, like a little hot dog, and
tuck him into the cat carrier for the night. It was so cute! It's
amazing that he survived, seeing as he was so young when we found him...
but the extra care that my Mom gave him probably helped him have
another chance. He'll always be Mom's baby.
He grew and grew, from that little kitten we raised, into a big kitty! I
know it sounds kind of crazy, but his features resemble a kangaroo's:
little head and long tail. He has toes like Bugs Bunny, too. Very very
cute!!
Benton hates going to the vet. He is best buds with our dog,
though. His favorite spot to hang out is where he was born, the
barn. Benton is one special kitty cat and definitely one of the family.
We love him to pieces! He's the cat's meow and more!
