About Us
Tara, the Cat of the Day
Name: Tara
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Calico
Home: Dallas, Texas, USA

Tara joined our family in May of 2002 along with her litter of 7 two-week old kittens. Tara was a stray cat that gave birth in an acquaintance's attic in April of 2002. Tara was a good momma though and knew the attic wasn't safe so she tried to move her kittens to the garage. But after she had moved two kittens she went back to the attic and found the remaining five kittens missing. After two days Tara was moved from the garage to a guest room. But Tara kept going into another room and crying at the wall. Finally one evening our acquaintance heard meowing from the wall, so he cut a hole in the wall and pulled out Tara's five remaining kittens...all alive, thankfully! Seems Tara had been trying to tell them her babies were in the wall and she wanted them back!

When the kittens were two weeks old my husband and I took Tara and the babies home with us to foster. Tara stole our hearts quickly though! She is so sweet and loving and is very much a people's kitty. So, it didn't take us long to realize that Tara wasn't going to just be a foster, she was going to become a permanent part of our family.

Tara was a great momma kitty and loved her kittens so and took great care of them. And when they were old enough and weened Tara was spayed. Tara is still our sweetheart and has become a fat, happy house cat! Spoiled rotten! You can visit Tara and the rest of our kitties at our website.
