Peanut
is a very special guy. He was found in a shipyard along with his
brother at about four weeks old covered in oil and very grumpy! It's not
easy being born in a boat. He has since grown up into the most adorable,
sweet, comedic cat you have ever seen. Peanut has the best sense of
humor in the world. He brings a smile to everyone's face every day.
Peanut is an indoor kitty only so he spends an awful lot of time with us
and our other cats. We have three. I am sort of a cat fanatic but find it
funny that all three of my guys were once orphans. I am convinced that
cats communicate to each other and let the "lost" ones know who the
suckers are. I can just see it ... turn left there to the grey house ...
she'll take you in with one meow. :-)
As I said before Peanut was found with his brother in a small covered
boat in a shipyard. Kind of a canoe type boat. The two were about four
weeks old when we found them and in messy shape. Covered in oil and not
very friendly at all.
My boyfriend and I must have been the first humans they came into
contact with. It took about a week of convincing them that we were all
right folk. Then the two happily slept on our bed with us. Peanuts
brother is named 'Porter' and lives with my dad in Redding, CA. Peanut
is about three now but you would never know that. He hasn't quite made it
out of the kitten phase. Life is one big game. He does play tag with me
as a favorite game. I chase him and then he chases me. We can do this
all over the house until were both exhausted. Of course he does this with
out other cats too. Butter is my female and they are the best of
friends. Cruiser is my oldest male and Peanut is kind of like his
annoying little brother. No matter how much Cruiser tries to explain to
Peanut that he just is an independent guy, Peanut still tries to finagle
him into a game of chase. Peanut most often loses to the older Cruiser.
Peanut is a lover...always in search of a lap to sit on. I always know
where he is as he does not like to be far away from anyone for very
long. If I leave the bedroom to go to the living room he will be sure to
follow in not much time. Peanut also likes to go for car rides if you
can believe it! He will sit in the front seat and when we come to a stop
he will put his paws up to the passenger window to get a better look at
what's out there. We have had some pretty bizarre reactions to the
orange guy peering out at the car next to us. Peanut is by far the best
cat I have ever had. He is full of personality and fun. He defies the
rumor that cats are independent. It's just not his philosophy - he needs
us and we need him so we're all pretty happy.
