Basil
(actually Sir Basil Rathcat) decided to become part of our
household about ten years ago. At only about eight weeks old, he showed up on
our porch in a pouring rain, and demanded to be let in. No one claimed
him, despite us putting up signs in the neighborhood, so he became the
big brother to our other cat.
He is a good hunter, but a better "buddy". He no longer bounces off the
walls the way he did as a kitten, but as new cats came to the group, he
was always the one to make friends with them, and not give up, no matter
how they reacted. He is always ready for a tummy rub, or to chase
reflections or feather toys around the floor.
