What
makes Sydney special? Well, first of all, he's a thirteen-pound "hunk a
hunk a burnin love." But still, in our household of four cats (all male),
he is without a doubt the Alpha male. He is extremely good natured and
so loving and sweet to his people and well for that matter, just about
anyone. He just doesn't know a stranger. He is independent but also
much of the time seems to want to be in the same room as one of his people.
He knows the word "no" and when it's spoken to him, he immediately stops
what he's doing. We've trained him to come when we whistle for him
(just like whistling for a dog), which makes calling him in from outside
much easier. He loves to sit on a chair and watch meal preparations and
will even put his paws at the very edge of the table without going any
further, just to get a little closer to those little treats that he
inevitably gets. He also likes to "help" when I sew, by laying on the
other side of the sewing machine and "helping" the fabric come through
the machine. Also loves to act as my "fabric anchor" when I've got the
material spread out to cut and tries to "guide" the scissors along.
He is just a fantastic, sweet and funny boy and our lives are so much
richer for having him as part of the family.
