Peke
is a very, very polite kitty who would never get up on the counter
or meow to get her way, except in the presence of that magical food
shrimp. With shrimp in the house, she cannot be responsible for her
behavior.
Peke came to me from the local humane society as a four-month-old kitten. I
was told it would be best to introduce a kitten into the home of a
resident full grown kitty. Not much luck with that - none of my cats
have ever accepted each other - I think they are all too spoiled and
each want me all to him/herself. It's exhausting trying to making
certain they get equal amounts of love and attention. Believe me,
they're keeping score.
What is special about Peke is her sweet disposition - she's a solid
teddy bear of a cat and delicious to hug. She's not a lap kitty, but
she'll plop herself next to me and wrap herself around my arm
positioning herself for a belly rub session. I have rubbed her belly
continuously through a full-featured movie yet she'll still hang in for
more. Occasionally she'll perch behind me on the back of the sofa and
surprise me with an enormous gentle love-bite to the head. She's
partial to me which frustrates my husband who is very kind to her.
However, when my husband is alone with her she'll act flirtatious and
lets him rub her belly and give her treats. The minute I walk into the
room she gives him the cold shoulder. (He received his own kitten this
spring. The kitten loves everyone.)
