Every
morning my Mom looks at 'Cat of the Day' and especially since June
11, 2003 when Flint
from Petawawa was featured, I knew that I must tell
my story. I was a stray in that same area when a kind lady noticed me at
her door. She took me in and fed me, but since I could not stay with
her, she turned me over to the Petawawa OSPCA. It was November and
getting quite chilly outside so I was very happy to be there and
proceeded to charm everyone by rubbing against them and rolling on my
back whenever they came near.
A few days later my prospective Mom came and she was so smitten with my
handsome face and loving nature that she could not resist adopting me.
At the animal shelter they had named me Ludwig, but she was not sure
about that name, so I am now mostly known as Ludy but sometimes I hear
"bad cat". I cannot understand why that could possibly be referring to
me.
Although I am totally an inside cat now, I am still kept busy guarding
the house against intruders such as squirrels, chipmunks, birds; and I
even keep watch for rabbits and ground hogs that invade the back yard.
In addition to all this, I occasionally have to deal with a neighborhood
yellow tabby that comes to the door or sits outside on my front window
ledge. As you can see by the inset picture, I still find some time to
rest and Mom's chair is my favorite place to kick back.
Mom likes gardening and I even have my own special plantation of catnip.
It tastes so much better than the dried stuff that comes from the store.
I always know when my carrier comes down from the shelf that I am due
for a trip. Once a year it is to my doctor for a check up and needles,
but other times it is to spend a few days with Grandma while Mom is
away. In spite of my liberal distribution of hair around her apartment,
she loves to have me and spoils me with treats and toys.
I know I am truly blessed with such a great family and my Mom says that
she echoes my sentiments.
