My
mother and sister picked Waffles out as a companion for me when I
went away to medical school. There are many wonderful things about
Waffles! She is soft, beautiful, loving, and smart! Like other cats
mentioned on the site she enjoys playing fetch and will bring toys to
you for play time. She loves to get up in the cubby-holes of my desk to
watch me study, which is what she is doing in this picture. She loves
to visit her "Grandma" in Maine, where she is allowed to play outside
and climb trees and chase things.
Waffles was the cat named by mistake. My brother and sister were
arguing about what to have for breakfast one morning. My sister
didn't want Waffles and started to protest when he suggested them.
He turned it around by saying that my new kitten's name was
Waffles. They argued back and forth about that until my father finally
shouted, "The Cat's Name is Waffles!" just to stop them. That was the
point at which I entered the room. My dad sounded so set on the
name that she has been Waffles ever since!
