Matthew
was born in Bangkok, Thailand in the house of an old lady who
has a kind heart. She always adopts and takes care of abandoned or
strayed cats. Matthew has one twin brother. They both look a like
except for one thing - Matthew has a bob-tail but his brother doesn't.
I had just lost my previous cat who died of a kidney disease a few weeks
before I came across Matthew during my lunch break. He was so sweet
that I couldn't help but ask the old lady if I could keep him. She was
more than happy to see Matthew leave for a better home.
When I took him home he was about six months old. A year later, I got
married to a diplomat and our family had to move to the US for a four-year
assignment. We decided to bring Matthew and the other cat, Alex with us.
Poor kitties, they had to undergo a 24-hour trip on the plane and
arrived to Washington DC during a cold winter in December. They
adjusted themselves very quickly. Matthew loves being outside when
weather permits. He's a star in our neighborhood. Kids love him and
his unique bob-tail. He's pretty shy, but once he gets to know you,
he's sweet and playful.
