This
is my fabulous girl Eisley. I rescued her from a major street near
downtown Los Angeles when I saw her happily prancing down the street,
making friends with everyone in her path. I was very worried that my
thirteen-year-old cat would never accept her, so I told myself that I would
find her another home if need be. Of course, I had completely fallen in
love and had even named her by the time I got home that day, and the
rest is history. My older kitty accepted her after the initial shock
wore off and is very maternal.
Eisley is just the greatest cat. She is loads of fun, sweet as can be
and very quiet! I thought she was mute for the first few months I had
her, until a friend heard her meow in protest because she had not been
invited to join me in the garden. (She's an indoor cat.) To this day, I
have never heard her meow, but she does make an occasional squeaky
noise. She has some interesting food tastes; she is obsessed with a
specific type of granola bar and will come running from anywhere in the
house if she hears the sound of the wrapping being removed. I caught
her eating a stolen piece of broccoli once, and she will steal egg
shells from the sink if they are not immediately put down the garbage
disposal.
Even people who don't like cats like Eisley, because she is just such a
social, huggable creature. And many friends who are cat people would
adopt her in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself. Fate
worked in my favor the day I walked out of a meeting and found this
joyous bundle of fluff.
