This
is Colby. He is named after a cheese because he's such a cry baby,
so he needs cheese to go with his whine. He has two brothers with cheese
names as well.
Colby came into our lives when I was volunteering at an animal shelter
in a rural farm area. He was dropped off as a five month old kitten who's
front arm was badly broken, but when I walked past his cage he started
wowing at me and trying to paw me with his gimpy leg. When I picked him
up he purrrrred and nuzzled my face (which he still does). Knowing his
adoption chances were slim I called my vet to see what she could do. She
X-rayed his leg and said that it needed to come off. After the
amputation Colby recovered quickly at my home as a foster cat, and even
though I intended to find him a home ... here it is two years later and he's
still Mom's little snuggle bug!
Please, whatever you do, don't feel sorry for this cat! He climbs
everywhere he wants to go; his tripod-ness holds him back from nothing!
He's even been know to be a bit of a bully as well; Colby can
rough-house with the best of them.
