Rosie Roo, the Cat of the Day
Name: Rosie Roo
Age: Ten months old
Gender: Female
Kind: Tortoiseshell
Home: Michigan, USA

This is my cat Rosie Roo, who I adopted from a rescue shelter when she was nine weeks old. She is a sweet and cuddly little girl who has learned how to shake hands! Adopting Rosie was one of the best decisions I have ever made ... my life is so much better with her in it!

I decided to adopt Rosie after both my husband and my dog passed away within fourteen weeks of each other and the house was just too empty and silent. I went to a rescue shelter where I saw many beautiful cats and kittens who were waiting for homes and then my eyes fell upon Rosie. She was the smallest of them all and was sitting quietly in a bottom cage, looking directly up at me. As soon as our eyes met, I knew that she was the one for me and when the attendant put her in my arms, she immediately started to purr. I brought her home that day and it has been a combination of fun and chaos ever since!

Rosie is 90% pure love and sweetness but the other 10% of her is unadulterated imp! She swats at my ankles when I climb the stairs, she zings from room to room and bounces herself off of the furniture, sometimes tipping it over in the process! She climbed my Venetian blinds so many times that they became bent, so I had to replace them with pull down shades. She likes to sit in the kitchen sink and play with the dripping water and she likes to pull the sinks strainer out with her paws. Her favorite toy is a little stuffed donkey that brays quite loudly. She carries that toy around with her and every morning she brings it into the bedroom and makes it bray to wake me up. If I still don't get up after the hee-hawing has stopped, she will jump on me, walk on me and meow in my ear. If I stop her from doing something she wants to do, even if I am stopping her for her own good, she scolds me with loud meows.Yes, there is no doubt that she is an Imp, but most of the time she is just a cuddly little lap warmer who will follow me from room to room and who sleeps with her paws wrapped gently around my neck. She spends quite a bit of time talking to me with little chirping noises and she likes to sit on the back of my chair and pat me on the head! Her biggest accomplishment to date, is that she has learned to shake my hand when I ask her to. It is so cute to see her put her little paw into my out-stretched palm. Rosie Roo is also a strikingly beautiful cat. She has pale green eyes and a sleek, shiny and colorful coat. She is a wonderful friend and companion and I love her very much.
