Our
cat's name is Callie. She is about a year and a half old, although
we are not sure, as she was a homeless cat. My husband
was always a dog person, and I was a cat person. I was allergic to
my cats as a young person and had to find them other homes. I thought I
would never be happy again. Callie started hanging around the door of my
daughter last winter and finally my daughter took her in out of the
cold. When my daughter moved, she could not keep Callie. I told her I
would take her for a short time until we found a home. I found out i am
not allergic to cats anymore, or maybe I am not allergic to Callie. My
husband and I love her so much. We never cease to be amused at her
antics. Whether she is racing through the house like her tail is on
fire, sleeping in an old bassinet (never her cat bed), hiding under the
couch with just her head hidden and the rest of her sticking out,
chasing her laser light, or laying on her back with her back legs
resting on the wall. When we come in the door she runs to the door to
greet us and immediately drops and rolls on her back for her tummy rub.
She has brought joy and warmth into our house again. She is our "girl,"
and always our Cat of the Day.
