Poppy
came from the 'home for destitute and stray cats' a few miles
from where we live in Cheshire, England. Three years previous we had
been lucky enough to find Clarice our first tortoiseshell cat at the
same home. The special lady Pat Wood who runs the home has rehoused over
30,000 cats to-date. We thought Clarice needed company and along came
Poppy Gizmo! We got her at just six weeks old when her eyes were still
blue - she was one of a litter of six kittens and the only tortie - all
the other kittens were ginger/white. There she was fast asleep in the
middle of the carrier cage. We called her Poppy and added Gizmo - as a
kitten she had huge ears and a funny expression and resembled Gizmo from
the Gremlins film!
Poppy is affectionate and very playful, she loves chasing our other cat,
climbing trees, and hiding in empty cardboard boxes. Life is never dull
with Poppy around!
