About Us
Lestat, the Cat of the Day
Name: Lestat
Age: Six years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Ragamuffin mix
Home: Central Florida, USA

Lestat was discovered by my daughter at the SPCA just before her 20th birthday. We wanted to adopt him that day, but we have other cats and had to have documentation that their shots were up to date. The shelter closed before we could get back that day, but my daughter waited outside the SPCA the next day with documents in hand so nobody would get him before she could. When she was leaving, a lady with a small boy told her it was a good thing she got there first or he would be going home with her. He was just a little gray fluffball then! My daughter often tells him he's lucky she got him, or he'd be owned by some kid with Kool-Aid stains on his face. (This is a joke of course.)

We took him to Daytona Beach that first weekend since we were going on a trip, and gave up a nice room that didn't allow pets for a not-so-nice room that did - just so we could have him. He had so much fun and jumped on the bed like he had springs in his feet - he has always been a delight! My daughter named him Lestat because he looked so regal and needed a regal name (and just like the Anne Rice character of the same name, he is loveable, but a brat). He likes to sit on laps if he so chooses, but never wants to be "held" or confined, but this doesn't mean he's not loving. If you are standing, he stands right next to you and presses against your legs. He loves raw broccoli, and can smell when you are cutting it up and comes begging. He also loves cereal with milk and begs for that as well. He cries at my daughter's door and scratches at it until she lets him in to sleep on her bed or snoop around her room. He loves all the other cats we have, and romps and plays with all who will join in. He has such a sweet spirit. He's my daughter's baby!

We hope to have him for many many years to come.
