Norma
is a very soft, beautiful, and friendly cat (to me). Though very timid
of strangers and loud noises, she enjoys simple comforts enormously. Her
favorite time of the day (besides mealtime) is towel time. After I take a
shower she demands to lay down on my wet, soap-smelling towel where she rolls
around like a young kitten. In this picture she looks very cool and suave,
which is not always the case.
She has been through a lot recently including: losing her very close sister
Dharma last year due to cardiomyopathy, making frequent visits to the vet
because of the possible risk of having the same disease, and getting adjusted
to a new kitten. Norma takes on both roles, mother and baby, depending on her
mood and her surroundings. Currently on a diet, she has become very sneaky at
trying to steal the kitten's food. Despite this bad behavior, she has lost
some of her fat. Once weighing fifteen pounds, she is down to 13.7. I am very proud
of her. At the vet, she clings to my boyfriend, giving him a rare chance to
snuggle with her.
Though I had cats throughout my childhood, Norma will always have a special
place in my heart. She is my furry baby and I love her. She is always there
for me and I for her.
