Mia
is very
special to us. She was rescued from the shelter on base as a Christmas
gift from my husband, who is now deployed, and Mia has had no problem
becoming one of the family! She's a cat who loves company, but hates to
be held. She's my little tail following me wherever I am in the house,
racing me up or down the stairs, sitting close by while I do laundry,
dishes, or even a puzzle. If you're watching tv, she's above you on the
couch. If you don't close the bathroom door well enough, she will push
it open and sit on the sink. If you're outside she sits by the door and
cries. When I babysit overnight, she is always sitting in the kitchen
window, waiting until she sees me to jump up and start mewing. And,
she's like a little sibling to my four-year-old son, playing with him,
always gently, and she even likes to get him in trouble by crying at him
while my back is turned when he didn't even touch her. It took me a
while to realize that one. But she is one of my babies, and she is such
a sweetheart, she always comes on our vacations, I would never think to
leave her behind.
