I introduce you to Beauregard - most often called Beau, but also
Bo-Bo and Boo bala. He allows us to cater to his every whim, which are
many. He does return the kindness with his undivided attention to us
however. Combing is tolerated to a degree to be determined by Beau
himself. Beau has a cat sister (Molly) who he has to exert authority
over occasionally and for which he usually gets reprimanded and he has a
dog sister, poor tolerant fifteen year old Mercedes. We often say he has no
control over that tail of his and when he swipes it across her face she
just closes her eyes and takes it all in stride. He used to retrieve
balls and still enjoys chasing them, however he soon discovered if he
played dumb his humans would do the retrieving. He is most definitely
master of all he surveys. His supervising techniques sometimes get him
scolded, such as supervising the meal preparations. He is definitely
not above begging for a handout. He loves french vanilla coffee creamer,
bananas, strawberry twists which is only gets on rare occasions despite
the begging.
I read a quote once that pretty much sums it up for us cat lovers. "God
gave us the cat so we could pet the tiger."
Living in a house with no cat is just to horrible to imagine.
