My
name is Blue; I'm a Lilac Point Siamese. I'm blind in one eye,
partially deaf; and recently I broke my ear (didn't think cats could do
that? I didn't either). I'm a "throw-back to the litter", as they say in
the professional world, but my people didn't know that until they
already loved me and couldn't give me up. They say I'm a little
mentally-challenged, and definitely rambunctious, but just being a
kitten in my head, I don't know how else to be. My people have to be on
guard all the time, because I jump (and miss), leap (and miss), tease
the other five cats in the house unmercifully (sometimes they act so old),
and because I'm so small, I get held down a lot. (I don't like that
part); the "others" do that, but they love me too, I just know it.
I am a fastidious "licker" and my coat (and the "others' coats") are
always clean and shiny, even though it makes me yak up some hairballs; I
even lick my people's "fur" (hairy arms/faces). They are the ones that
get the dirtiest, 'cause they go outside, and it's my job to keep them
clean every day. The "six" of us (cats) don't go outside, so we stay
pretty clean, but you can't take any chances anyway, so I just keep on
licking.
I purr the loudest too, and when my people pick me up, I pretend I'm a
"rag doll" so they'll keep holding and kissing me. I stretch out "long
kitty" to make myself big enough to fit inside both their arms and they
like it (so do I).
I heard them say I'm all heart, and the only thing I have to give is
love, so that's why I lick everyone so much. They think it's cute, but
I think it's an important job, & I take it very seriously. My people
let me watch TV every night, and I even get to jump up and touch the
people on the screen. Sometimes the shadows in my bad eye scare me a
little, but my people love me so much, they protect me and I've even got
about forty-eleven other names, like Boo, Boo-kitty, Booness, & Boo-man-Chu.
All-in-all, I'd say it's a pretty good life; especially when the heater
is on, and the warm air comes up from the floor vents and makes my
people laugh when my pants "blow in the wind". I like making them
laugh; it's something else I do just for them (you know, like acting all
silly when they give me catnip).
