This
is a picture of Mike Gruber. He's the best kitty in the land.
Mike was found at the San Diego Animal Shelter in 1999. He lives in Palm
Springs, CA with his people. He's shown here wearing a special radio
receiver on his collar, which helps his people find him in the event of
an unauthorized excursion. Mike adores the camera.
Mike is an experienced traveler and has flown to New York, Las Vegas and
San Francisco with his people. He hunkers down in a special carry-on
bag and stays under the seat for most of the flight - at least until he
gets lonely and starts meowin' for his mama. He just got back from a
week in Minnesota, where he was mystified by his first experience with
snow.
Mike's a special little guy because of his ability to learn by
observation. His family lives on one of San Diego's many canyons, and
every night he watches a family of raccoons who show up and eat the dog
food that his daddy leaves for them. After studying the way that they
use their paws to eat, Mike immediately started experimenting with his
own paws and began to use them to steal food from his mama's plate
during supper.
Mike insists on drinking from the bathroom sink and he demands his meals
on time. If his people try to sleep late on weekends, Mike sneaks into
their bedroom and leaps onto the clock radio, eventually switching the
radio on and waking his daddy.
Mike's hobbies include chasing birds, playing with his many toys and
sleeping in the big bed between his people. His favorite human foods
are Linda McCartney's Macaroni & Cheese, pizza and coconut cake.
