Salem
was found all alone on a rural road by my brother and his wife.
He trotted right over to them when they opened the door and hopped right
in. They fell for him hard (even with her allergies) However, when
they took the little guy home to meet their German Shepherd, Sheba, he
bloodied her nose. So they called me, and soon my sneezing and teary
eyed (and not just from the allergies) sister-in-law was handing him
over to me. My brother knew full well that I wouldn't say no =).
Since then he has grown in leaps and bounds and has won over everyone
who's met him. He is extremely friendly and has yet to meet a stranger.
The jury is still out, however, when it comes to my other two cats,
Sassy and Ozzy. With all of his energy I think he's a little much for
them to handle... but they're starting to warm up to him.
Salem's favorite activities include: Running through the house at
lightning speed, playing with his many toys, aggravating Sassy and
Ozzy to within an inch of his life, watching t.v., investigating and
thereby spilling the contents of any glass he comes across, and general
rowdiness. My husband has even taught him to fetch.
Salem Trivia: He got this name because he looks like a little
"witch-kitty" (you know, the Salem witch trials). His nicknames are
"Craziness" and "Goofball". And he once got himself locked in the
refrigerator and was nearly tumble-dried in the same day. I wouldn't
trade him for anything, though. He's been a wonderful addition to our
family. You can't help but smile with him around. I love my little
Halloween Cat.
