We
were still mourning the disappearance of our two cats of twelve years
when I was told about two kittens who had been found in a hairdresser's
garage. I went to the beauty parlor, where they were during the day, to
see them and immediately took them back to my job at an optometrist's
office. When my husband came to pick me up, I pulled them out of the
pockets of my scrubs and he couldn't believe it!
They were no more than two weeks old and we had to bottle feed them. I
had to take them to work for about two months and kept them in a 'fort'
made of cardboard boxes around our meeting table in my lab. As they grew
they began to escape the fort and once Lili was near the back door when
an employee accidentally slammed it and ruined one of her dew claws. She
is smaller than her sister Ruby and is the adventurer (as you can see!).
I named her for the Lilipution she was to my Gulliver. She follows me
around like a puppy and when I come home from work she always goes to
the rug, flops down, and shows me her belly!
We are very careful about when they go out and trained them with a
harness for about six months. Now they come in before dark when I
whistle.
We love her so much!
