Ringo
came to live with us and his two siblings, Rocky the half coon and
his sister Jasmine, when he was just nine weeks old. Ringo loves
to snuggle. He comes into our bed, gets under the covers, puts his head
on the pillow and purrs. He can't get close enough, he squirms closer
and closer. Sometimes we call Ringo "crazy eyes." He doesn't have his
crazy eyes in this picture. Those are his sweet eyes. When Ringo is in
his "crazy eyes mood" he runs full speed around the house diving under
sofas, skidding around corners and jumping on and off the counters.
Nothing is safe on the counter. Ringo nudges everything off and watches
it crash to the floor. He makes funny little internal groans when he's
is acting crazy. He'll run up to where we are and wiggle his head back
and forth while groaning. As soon as you make a move to touch him he's
off!
Ringo loves water. He walks and lays down in puddles, walks into the
shower and sits in the sinks all the time, as you can see. He is
absolutely fascinated with water. I can no longer leave the automatic
waterer filled and on the floor. Ringo will splash in the water
continuously, flooding the floor. He also loves ice cubes. He sits
on the counter next to the refrigerator and when you dispense ice into a
glass he lunges out and tries to grab the ice, sometimes successfully
knocking the glass out of your hand thus smashing it onto the floor.
Ringo does not like dogs. A neighborhood dog has learned that Ringo
will run. Several times he's been chased up a tree. He cries until we
get a ladder and rescue him. Ringo has also gone on two separate
adventures down the sewer in front of our house. This has proven to be
a very bad idea. Once down there he cannot get out. So we have to pry
up the drain grate and go down after him. Sometimes he plays hard to
get and sits in the tunnel connecting the basin to another just inches
out of our reach. That is when he is a very bad coon boy.
But mostly Ringo is the sweetest, funniest cat we've ever known and he's
gorgeous too. He brings us hours of entertainment and lots of
unconditional love. We love him tons.
