Carmen
is a very gentle and affectionate cat and has been with me
through three moves and transitions from single to married to family
life. She's great with our two sons and tends to prefer the company of
men to women. I adopted her from an animal shelter as a kitten.
She was the only kitten I met that day who expressed any interest in
people. The others wandered around the "getting to know you" room, but
Carmen approached, sat on my lap and purred. She's still a big purrer
(and is doing so on my lap as I write this) and loves to cuddle,
especially on sofas and in bed.
This photo was taken when we lived in St. Louis. Carmen was sniffing
around on our deck. She's mainly an indoor cat but enjoys exploring
outside whenever she can. It's like a little safari vacation!
