Charlie
is huge! When people ask me what breed of cat he is, I reply,
"Ditch Cat". Now, more about Charlie, told in his own words...
My mom was working for a farmer, and one day the farmer's wife was
jogging and heard crying in a ditch. She walked down into the ditch and
found the sweetest fluffiest little kitten in the ditch.. It was me, but
my jaw was broken and my bottom lip was torn down. I was a mess. They
think I was thrown from a car by someone who didn't want me. The
farmer's wife convinced my mom to take me home, because my mom was
moving to a new house and needed a companion for her other cat. Mom took
me home late on a Friday afternoon. She called the vet to see if she
could get me in. The vet said that if I could eat and drink, I would be
OK til Monday. By Monday, I was looking pretty good, and the rest is
history. I never quit eating or growing.
I am a pretty spoiled, I am the only boy in the house. I have four
sisters, Nena, Zoë, Suzy and Jade (the crazy German Shepherd) I
love to greet people at the door, just like a dog. I have my own high
chair, where I am permitted to sit during meal time. I am also very
smart and keep mom on her toes. I know how to open the back door if it's
not locked. I also can get into any cupboard or drawer I choose. I love
to tear open marshmallows and bread. I'm thirty inches long and weigh
around twenty pounds, so the girls put me up to do their dirty
work...like tipping over the garbage can to go "dumpster diving". Mom
also trained me to "shake" like a dog. Among my other favorite things
are furry mice, chasing the laser light, posing for the camera,
torturing the dog, sitting on mom's shoulders, drinking from the kitchen
sink, children, chasing bugs, and food!
I am a very healthy boy, but I do require dental care because my jaw
didn't line up quite perfectly, but in every other way, I am the most
purr-fect cat that has ever been found in a ditch. The people that threw
me out gave my mom one of the most precious gifts of her life.
