Taiko
is an extremely mellow and affectionate cat! He is my constant
companion whenever I am home and is like lap velcro. He does this with
anyone who comes over... you sit down, and only seconds later, he finds
your lap and starts purring. I had wanted a Tonkinese but found that
they were too noisy. Then I found out about platinum Burmese, chose
Taiko and am so happy to have him in my life! He is very quiet, which
is very unusual for a Burmese, and only speaks if he thinks I'm going to
give him food or if I leave the room and he can't find me. He has always
been athletic, but is now even more sinewy since we moved into a new
home which has stairs... I've never seen a cat bolt up the stairs as
quickly as Taiko does! Of course this means that he's even stronger
now, so he regularly picks on my Scottish Fold, who is very girly and
not the best at self-defense!
Another terrific characteristic which Taiko has is that he loves to gaze
up into the eyes of a human he really likes and lean his back against
the person's chest while he sits in his/her lap. This is one of the most
endearing things to see or experience! Since I appear to be his
favorite human, he does this to me quite often, which of course makes it
impossible for me to push him off my lap if I am in the middle of
something! He will really lean into you with his full weight, purr like
a madman and gaze up at you with those amazing eyes...
Taiko is also a great bed buddy and will nestle in the crook of my arm
every night. There have been many mornings that I awaken to find myself
spooning him or him spooning me with his belly and his little paws
pressed up against my back. Taiko is very special and I just can't
imagine my life without such a cuddly boy and great friend!
