Omar
was definitely the best friend I have ever had. He was with me in
my troubled youth and we would go hide together when things got scary.
He was with me as I grew into adulthood and moved away from home for the
first time. He was with me as I explored my career and settled into a
new town with new friends. Finally as he grew aged and weary I told him
it was ok to let go, because I was going to be ok now. He purred during
our last moments together and made a peaceful transition to heaven.
I will never find another friend like Omar. Even though he had always had
a grumpy stare, he was a marshmallow inside. Omar, in my book, will
always be Cat of the Day.
