Ryuuko, the Cat of the Day
Name: Ryuuko
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Tabby
Home: Joplin, Missouri, USA

Hello. My name is Ryuuko, which my parents tell me means "tiger" in loosely translated Japanese. I am also called RyRy, RyPrincess, RyBaby, and Rylee. My mom and dad adopted me from the Humane Society on Valentine's Day 2004 because I was the wildest kitten in the cage. I kept pouncing on all of the other kittens and my parents thought that was very cute.

When I came home, I hid under the refrigerator a lot, but I finally decided that my mom and dad weren't so bad. Once I came out to play, my mom and dad spent hours and hours laying on the floor staring at me and playing with me. They didn't want me to be scared of them or anyone else ever again, so they pretty much let me do whatever I want! They don't even try to pretend that anyone but me is in charge of our home!

As you can see, I am very beautiful. Everyone who sees me is always saying what unusual and gorgeous markings I have. I am very petite and I have the softest, silkiest fur that makes my mom and dad want to pet me all the time. I'm not much of a lap cat, but when I'm in the mood I let my mom or dad hold me just like a baby and I sometimes reach up and pet their faces to let them know I love them.

I used to spend a lot of time running up and down the halls, jumping halfway up door frames, hanging from shower curtains, and doing laps around the sofa. My mom and dad thought that I was lonely and brought home a brother for me to play with. His name is Yoshiro (Japanese for "good son"). I guess he's an okay brother - we like to tackle one another and roll around the floor together. Sometimes I have to help him wash behind his ears, but he doesn't really like that.

Well, I guess that's about it. There are too many counters to jump on, drinks to spill, and brothers to pick on to stay here chatting all day!
