My
name is Sissy Sue and I live in Southern Ohio on the borders of West
Virginia and Kentucky, over looking the beautiful Ohio River. I am pure
Appalachian, and along with my southern hospitality, (I'm just a blonde)
I am quite a belle. I live with my nine other brothers and sisters, all
strays, as I myself was found at a few weeks old, on a busy state route.
A couple of years ago we had a horrific ice storm and trees we down
everywhere. When the bulldozer came to clear away the trees, my mommy
came running out to stop them. She told them that area was to be left
as it was. It was going to be a jungle and a forest for us. Boy is she
the best mommy, we spend most of our time there. We hide in the holes
left where the trees once stood, we use the bark to sharpen our claws
and we hide in the leaves and attack each other.
My brothers and sisters have lots of indoor/outdoor activities and we go
in and out at will. My daddy has fenced in several acres to keep us
safe... he made it about nine or ten feet high, loosened the top so when we
climb it it will fall back in and we have to let go. Our auntie is a
vet, and she said she wished all cats could have a place like ours. It
is more like a day care center. Maybe mom should open a day care for
peoples kitties to stay while their working. We also have three dogs, they
have their own yard, sometimes they get out and come into our area, they
were here first and mommy and daddy taught them to love us and they do.
I could go on for hours about my life with all my family but the most
important thing is that mommy and daddy love us and we are their
children. Every night they do a head count and every morning. We all
eat in the kitchen and we sleep where ever we want. Oh, my mommy says we
are all Kitty Christians, because we love to lay on the piano while
mommy plays church hymns. We just sleep like little babies.
