Emma, the Cat of the Day
Name: Emma
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Calico Domestic Medium Hair
Home: Collingwood, Ontario, Canada

Emma is a very special little cat who had a horrible beginning of life. She came into the Animal Hospital I was working at as a very young kitten, in a cardboard box with her littermates. Some horrible person put them in a box, taped it up and left it on the side of the road! Unfortunately, the kittens were very sick. Emma was the only kitten we could save. She spent several weeks recovering. She was extremely malnourished and the Veterinarian was afraid she may have some brain damage.

When she was old enough and well enough, I adopted Emma and took her home. Despite being so tiny and fragile looking, she was a regular, crazy kitten! She bonded with the rest of the animals, and grew up with them. Emma is now an adult, and unfortunately the Veterinarian was right. She does have a small degree of brain damage, and her size has also been stunted - she is very small for her age, and she acts like a kitten still! People will come over and ask me when I got a kitten, even though she's three years old! Everyone calls her "perma-kitten". She sure is special, and I am so glad we were able to save her and give her a good life.
