It
took us some time to bring this beautiful girl into our home. She
appeared during the weeks following Hurricane Katrina. Elsa remained
outside for several weeks, allowing us to feed her, but never to touch.
Trust eventually came into our relationship and we were able to catch
her and take her to a nearby animal clinic. She was given a clean bill
of health and came home to meet her sister, Sophie.
After a few "cat fights" (literally), Elsa and Sophie have become
kindred spirits. Elsa is somewhat of a loner and any amount of
affection remains on her terms. She spends most of her day on her
favorite toy, a round scratching area with a cat comb that arches from
side to side. Elsa's other favorite thing would be food, of any kind.
We have determined that she went without food for a period of time and
therefore eats everything placed before her. Elsa enjoys catching toes
(and biting) under the covers. We are thrilled to have her in our
family and look forward to many years with her.
